This is our library:

A study area. To quote Darrin, one of my professors, "That is one sexy wall."

A view from the Art Collection. There are skylights everywhere.

The building is a joy to be in.
This is our old library:

It used to look like this :

We've taken quite a step up, haven't we? The old library was dark and inefficient, but it was still sad to see it torn down. It's been here forever. This was my favorite doorway on the building's south side:

It's hard to read, but the sign says "Center For The Study of the Causes of War and the Conditions for Peace." It was an "emergency exit only" and now it's gone for good.

I need to go explore the new library. We're going to be building a new one in Smithfield (sometime) and I want to see the great study areas, circulation desks, stacks, computer labs, etc the Merrill-Cazier has to offer!
You will have so much fun exploring, there is something to discover around every corner. Be sure to look closely at the countertops. They have fossils embedded in them. And notice how much natural light there is on every level.
I loved walking past that door...
I'd walk to the rythm of my saying the name. It's got a catchy walking beat.
I hadn't had the chance to see the new building. GORGEOUS!!!
